House mice are extremely common pests that inhabit both private homes and apartments.
They also frequently settle in production facilities and warehouses, causing significant inconvenience and damage. A mouse inside a home is not only unpleasant — it is also dangerous, as mice carry numerous diseases and contaminate food supplies.
Their typical colour is grey, and their body length ranges from 5 to 10 cm, with nearly half of this length being the tail.
During the warm season, mice may move outdoors into gardens or yards, where they also cause damage, but after the first cold weather they return inside.
Mice are usually inactive during the day and become active at night, but you can suspect their presence by several signs:
characteristic rustling sounds
damaged packages of grains, cereals, or sugar
mouse droppings
small holes in walls, especially near corners
gnaw marks on furniture and walls
If you notice even a few of these signs, you must start dealing with the mice immediately.
While traps and household poisons can be used, they are far less effective than professional deratization carried out by specialists.
